Disney World is the most magical place on earth and is so vast yet detailed that is holds many fun secrets that delight and entertain. Below is a list of some of our favorites.

1. Avoid the long lines entering Animal Kingdom by heading into Rainforest Cafe to the left of the main park entrance. Walk through the restaurant gift shop and enter the park with zero crowds.

2. Of the 3 Presidential Seals in this country, one is located in the Hall of Presidents in Disney World. The other two are in the Oval Office and the hall where the Liberty Bell is housed.

3. Strategically placed devices called “smellitizers” are dispersed throughout the park and emit certain scents like the smell of cookies and vanilla on Main St.

4. Inside Cinderella Castle is a luxurious suite that can’t be booked and you can only stay there if you win a contest.

5. The Be Our Guest Restaurant has a secret menu item. If you’ll remember from the song “Be Our Guest” they sing “try the Grey Stuff, it’s delicious!” You’ll be treated to the secret dish.

6. The second largest aquarium in the U.S. is The Seas Aquarium in Epcot. It uses 5.7 million gallons of water.

8. If you look, you’ll notice thousands of hidden Mickey’s through the parks and resorts.

9. Gum isn’t sold in any of the park to minimize the risk of people disposing their gum on rides and dropping it on the ground.

10. The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh ride in Magic Kingdom used to be Mr’ Toad’s Wild Ride. There’s a picture of Mr. Toad handing the deed over to Owl in the ride.

11. When Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride closed, a tombstone for Mr. Toad was placed in the graveyard at The Haunted Mansion.

12. The plane from Casablanca part of the Great Movie Ride is actually the front half of the crashed plane from the Jungle Cruise ride. Efficient huh?

13. The same dog is used in the Pirates of the Caribbean ride and the Carousel of Progress.

14. The lake in which the “Fantasmic” attraction takes place is only about 1 foot deep.

15. When Pirates of the Caribbean was being built in 1967, Disney Imagineers didn’t like the look of the false skeletons placed around the ride. So, with the help of UCLA medical school, they were able to place actual human skeletons about the place. Most have since been removed, though the skull and crossbones on this headboard are still human.

16. There are no bathrooms located in the Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square, in keeping with the time period of that area.

17. On the signage for Animal Kingdom, a dragon can be seen amongst other less fictional beasties. There was originally going to be an area called the Beastly Kingdom, which was going to be dedicated to mythical animals.

18. Epcot was originally intended to be a model community and the home of some 20,000 residents. The diorama of Walt Disney’s vision is on display in the “PeopleMover” ride.

19. Look down when in line at “The Haunted Mansion,” and you might spot a wedding ring embedded into the concrete. It’s believed to belong to the hanging bride who you see on the ride.

20. Epcot’s American Pavilion is home to an American flag taken from the rubble of 9/11/2001

21. There is a high streetlamp, near the Speedway in Tomorrowland, with 3 round hooded lights. At a certain times of the day it will cast a hidden Mickey shadow on the ground when the sunlight is hits it just right.

23. There’s a lovely walkway from Magic Kingdom’s Storybook Circus to Tomorrowland that many people know nothing about. Make use of this path for a shortcut between these two areas of Disney’s most popular park.
